This month, confidence around the U.S. economy increased, a rebound after months of freefall. However, in the May 2025 edition of the Pulse of the U.S. Workforce, there is a concerning undercurrent to economic optimism: workplace experience is steadily declining over time.
What stands out the most in our recent report: over ⅓ of U.S. workers are not feeling cared for as a person by their manager this month. This is a growing concern: over the past year, perceptions of manager care have decreased by 6% across the U.S. workforce. It may just be the source of declining workplace experiences overall.
