Why U.S. Workers Are Feeling the Chill This December
While the U.S. Workforce is expressing optimism about the U.S. Economy this month, the November 2024 Pulse of the U.S. Workforce reveals that Americans are feeling more down this month, with higher levels of sadness and fear, combined with lower levels of happiness all around.
Younger employees may be feeling down more than most - nearly two-thirds of younger U.S. workers, ages 18-34, are expressing concern about their current job situation. When concern about job security - and concern the context overall - is high, companies see impacts on workforce productivity, and experience rising costs due to mental and emotional strain. Leaders in particular feel the weight of managing career employees who are distressed, and the data is revealing an important trend to watch for leaders right now.
